今日は山中湖・きららにSWEET LOVE SHOWERの出演でやって来ております。
そう、ここは先日8月8日にスカジャンボリーを行った場所。思い出深いこの地にまた戻ってきた！

と書きつつ、僕個人は2日前に、フィッシュマンズでSLSに出演しました。vocalにUAを迎えて夕暮れどきに最高のひとときを過ごし、鳴りやまぬ拍手に胸が熱くなりました。2009年は山中湖・きららが本当に特別な存在になったなあ・・

昨日、新潟・長岡で開催されたフェス『音楽と髭たち』で、小泉今日子さんと一緒に。
圧倒的に素敵な空気をふりまいてくれてますね。シアワセだ～。

Right now I'm here at Kirara, Yamanaka Lake to play in SWEET LOVE SHOWER.
Yep, this is where we did SKA JAMBOREE on Aug 8.
...I'm back at this special place!

2 days ago, I personally played at SLS as Fishmans.
UA sang as the vocal, and it was just great. The sun set was beautiful and the audience never stopped clapping, which really moved my heart.
Kirara really made a special impression for the year 2009...

I ran into Kyoko Koizumi at the festival in Nagaoka, Niigata.
She was spreading fantastic energy. God, I was happy.

昨日までライジングサンロックフェスティバルで活躍してきました。
最後まで居残って見届けるのは若干疲れたけど本気で楽しかったです。

浅井健一さんとか中村達也さんとかQちゃんとか勝手にしやがれの武藤くんとか加藤とか見届け組がライジングに対する愛情を身を持って表現していました。
今年のライジングはWild PeaceというよりはMild Peaceでみんな音楽のそばの穏やかな平和を満喫してるように見えたかな。

今年はスカパラ国内フェスが全部で6本くらいあるのでまだまだ気を抜けません。次のシングルとアルバムに向けての曲づくりをしつつのハードワークは馴れっこで生き甲斐になってきました。

さて、写真を二枚添付させてください。
一枚目はミュージシャンがみんな見てる楽屋の光景で撮影はGAMOさんです。谷中はともかく背景のボックスがそれぞれの楽屋です。

そしてもう一枚はベネズエラで一番人気のスカバンドDesorden Publico(ディゾルデンプーブリコ)のボーカルのオラシオがアムステルダムまでわざわざ見に来てくれた時のツーショット。ラテンスカのすばらしさ満載の最高のバンドです。10年前にスカパラのライブにはるばるベネズエラからなぜか静岡まで見に来てくれてその後東京で遊んだ思い出をTOKYO LOCOと言う曲に込めてくれました。彼ら曰くスカパラサウンドを自分等なりに表現したとのこと。是非聴いてもらいたいです。
いまはまだamazonで買えるかな。Diabloと言う題名のアルバムです。

Until yesterday, I was at Rising Sun Rock Festival.
It was a bit exhausting to be there till the end, but it was truly fun.

Kenichi Asai-san, Tatsuya Nakamura-san, Q-chan, Muto-kun of Katteni-Shiyagare and Kato expressed their love for Rising by seeing the festival off.
Rising of this year was like 'Mild Peace' rather than 'Wild Peace.' The people seemed to enjoy the calm peace around the music.

This year, there are total 6 Japanese festivals for us. It's still continuing.
I've gotten used to the hard work of festival and songwriting for the next single/album, both coming at once. Not only that I've gotten used to it, but it has become my life.

Now, please let me post 2 pics.
The 1st one is the back stage where all the musicians chill. It was taken by GAMO-san. Don't mind me, but take a look at the boxes in the back. They are the rooms.

And the other pic is Horacio, the vocal of Venezuela No1 Ska band 'Desorden Publico.' He came all the way to Amsterdam to see our stage. With Desorden Publico, you can really taste the fantasy of Latin Ska.
10 years ago, they flew from Venezuela to Shizuoka to see Skapara's live. We then had fun together at Tokyo, and it became their song "TOKYO LOCO." He told me that he expressed Skapara sound.

トーキョースカジャンボリー、いやー本当にいい時間を過ごさせていただきました。
あらためて皆様にお礼を言いたいです。感謝感激ありがとう！！

SEE SPOTのメンバー、あたくしの楽器の彫りもんにハンノーしてくれちゃって、"オ〜、マウントフジ〜！""ワオー、ウエイヴ〜！"とかなんとか言いつつ写真とりまくってました。
みんなきさくで、ハッピーな人達でした。皆さんにもそれがよく伝わったステージだったと思います。

SKAのイベントの楽しみの１つに同じ楽器奏者が複数いるってのがあります。
ふだんJAZZのBIGBANDとか以外になかなかないので、自分と違ったスタイルのプレイをを見聞きするのが勉強になります。

VIKINGSのラストの曲に飛び入りしたのはまるっきし予定になくて、当日ステージ始まる直前にNABEちゃんに"イッツアスモールワールドやるんだけど吹かない？keyはB♭でソロは２番目に"
と言われ、急に参加することになったんです。
こういう、ノリ一発で一緒にセッションできる音楽ってすばらしいなって思います。

また来年第２回トーキョースカジャンボリーが開催できますように、みなさまのご指導ご鞭撻よろしくお願い致します！！！

We all had a GREAT time at TOKYO SKA JAMBOREE.
Please let me express my gratitude once again...
Thank you, thank you & thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

The members of SEE SPOT liked the design sculpted on my trombone.
They shouted as they clicked the camera shutters;
"Oh, Mount Fujiii!" "Wow, wave!!"
They were friendly and happy people. I think our performance well expressed that.

One of the fun parts of Ska events is that there are many people that play the same instrument. It's hard to find other than a Jazz big band, and so I always learn many things from watching and listening to the different play styles.

I suddenly joined in the VIKINGS' last track. It wasn't something planned at all, but when the stage was about to begin Nabe-chan suddenly told me "Why don't you join in 'It's a Small World'? The key is B♭and you can take the 2nd solo!"
And so, I ended up playing there.
I think a music that is so open and is possible to play session in such light flow is just truly great.

I hope we're able to do the "2nd TOKYO SKA JAMBOREE" next year.

さてさて、スカジャンボリー続報ですが、当日はスカパラを始め各バンドのライブがありましたが、今回特設の東京タワーにはDJブースが設置されており、そこでいろいろな人がDJを行いました！

そして、何と、川上さんもDJとして参加！

会場を盛り上げておりました！

And you know what, Kawakami-san DJed too!!
He sure rocked the crowd!

かなり楽しかったですね！

It's ended...
The first festival hosted by Skapara "TOKYO SKA JAMBOREE" has ended!!

Wasn't it REALLY fun?
Skapara has appeared in festivals all over Japan and the world, and so we were able to put this festival out!! It all paid off.
To those of you who came to see the show; are you back home safe??

I think there're lots that weren't able to come, but our Japan tour will begin this fall!
Of course, we'll still keep on playing in various summer festivals. See you there!

Today's TOKYO SKA JAMBOREE! I can't wait to see what's gonna happen.

The weather is beautiful.
It'll probably be hot, so I hope you'll be hot too;)!

いまは山中湖のスカジャンボリーに向かうバスの中です。昨日はスタジオコーストまで行ってきました。

スペシャルズのライブは最高で、みんな健在でジェリーダマース以外全員参加のバンドサウンドは往年の勢いと今現在の平和を感じさせるいい雰囲気でした。
お客さんもスカマナーに溢れた人が多く、踊るとこ踊る、抜くとこ抜くでかなり楽しんでいたように思います。
会場はクラブ形式で入場料以外に入場時にワンドリンク分500円のチケットを買わなければならなかったので渋々払いつつ、結局ハイネケンの缶を鑑賞しながら一気呑みしました。

スカパラのヨーロッパツアーのマネージャーのVINと明日のスカジャンボリーに参加するオランダの盟友Drスカも一緒だったのでまだヨーロッパツアーの最中みたいな気分。
オランダのDr.スカは長い時間かけて日本に着いて最初に川上と一緒に呑んだのがオランダのビールのハイネケンだったのがおもしろいとは川上の弁。

ライブ前に息子さんと散歩中のスペシャルズのギタリストのリンバルさんと再会したので携帯で撮った写真がこのピンぼけです。
でもハッピーだったからいいか。
リンバルさんはスカパラでシアトルに行った時に自分で調べてライブに来てくれてアンコールのセッションに参加してくれたりしたので数年ぶりの再会。しっかり覚えていてくれたのに感激しました。

ライブ中一気呑みしたハイネケンの缶が空になって俺の手の中スカビートで揺れていたのが印象的でした。
たぶん俺の体も同じように震動してたんだろうな。
ライブ後みんなで再会を喜びながら渋谷で食事をしてスカジャンボリーの前夜祭みたいな気持ちになったのが収穫でした。

<Blurry Shot...>

Hey Guys. Right now I'm heading for Yamanaka Lake by bus for SKA JAMBOREE.

Yesterday I was at Studio Coast.
The Specials' live was AWESOME. Other than Jerry Dammers, all the members were there. Their sound had both the past momentum and present peacefulness. The mood of the show was really good...:)
The audience was well aware of the ska manner. They danced and chilled and seemed to have had a great time.
The admission was like a club; you pay at the door the entrance fee + one drink ticket of \500. There was no choice, so I paid the money and gulped down Heineken while I watched the show.

There was Skapara's Europe Tour manager VIN and our Holland friend Dr.Ska with me and it made me feel like I was still on Europe Tour!
Dr. Ska traveled a long way from Holland, but the first drink he had with Kawakami was the Dutch beer Heineken. "It was kinda interesting" Kawakami told me.

Before the show, I ran into The Specials' guitarist Mr. Lynval who was taking a walk with his son. I took a picture with my mobile, but it turned out blurry as you can see.
...But at least we were happy!
When Skapara did a show in Seattle, Mr. Lynval came privately and played in the encore session. It was our reunion in few years. I was so happy that he clearly remembered everything.

The Heineken can was dancing to the ska beat in my hands and for some reason the vision stayed in my memory.
I bet my body was dancing like the can!
After the live, we all celebrated our coming together and had a meal at Shibuya. It was nice that it felt like a SKA JAMBOREE pre-party;)
